Bond Architects Principal-in-Charge Receives Award for Decades of Industry Advocacy
Susan Pruchnicki will be recognized by AIA Missouri for her work on legislation impacting Missouri’s architects.
Susan Pruchnicki, FAIA LEED AP+ IDIC, will receive a Distinguished Service Award from AIA Missouri on September 22, 2023. This award recognizes members of AIA Missouri for public service and leadership, either in community affairs, state affairs, or political action. Recipients have also made powerful contributions to their industry in their own professional achievements, reflecting the outstanding role of the architect.
“Sue has always been a very active and vocal advocate for the architectural profession,” says Art Bond, AIA, founder of Bond Architects. “We have all benefitted from her leadership.”
Susan’s interest in architecture began when she was a child – at a Career Day event at her school, she discovered that a friend’s architect father had designed her town’s library. After that moment of personally experiencing the relevance of architecture, she was fully committed to becoming an architect herself. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA (1986) and Masters (1988) in Architecture. Susan has been active in the AIA at the regional, state, and national levels for decades, serving on multiple boards and committees. An active member of AIA Missouri’s legislation committees, Susan often makes the trip out to Jefferson City to discuss issues relevant to Missouri architects.
