Bond Architects worked with the Kirkwood School District on the renovations and additions to North Kirkwood Middle School. Additions included 6,428 SF of new connector corridors to the new wing to improve circulation and security.

Renovations to the existing Administrative Services Center were made to capture 15,660 SF of elective classrooms. These multiple areas of additions and renovations were designed to be implemented while classes were in session with as little impact as possible to ongoing curriculum. Other projects included restroom improvements, renovations to hallway and ramp at orchestra, asphalt track resurfacing and the installation of expanded BMP.

SPED Classroom

Renovations included creating a new SPED classroom. Inclusion and integration were priorities when designing the district’s new SPED spaces. The SPED classroom includes a kitchen and laundry facilities to teach students life skills. The design also includes an in-classroom restroom for easy access.
