As part of our ongoing relationship with the YWCA Metro St. Louis, Bond Architects renovated YWCA’s Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center in Midtown St. Louis. The building was originally the Phyllis Wheatley Branch of the YWCA, which served African-American women and girls during the time of segregation. During that time, the space was a social hub and community resource for African-American society in St. Louis.

The support of our partners at woman-owned Bond Architects was integral to successfully refreshing the historic Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center, a jewel in our community. Our venue’s new look celebrates the space’s continuing relevance and will help us carry on the legacy of the amazing women who have steadfastly supported YWCA Metro St. Louis and the families we serve for decades
